In his practice as legal expert, Juan has gained experience in crisis management, risk assessment and dispute resolution matters.
Juan graduated in Notary Law from Universidad Latina of Costa Rica, and also has a Law Degree from Universidad de San José, in Costa Rica.
In addition, Juan has a Master’s degree in Labor & Social Security Law from Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED).
Juan has extensive experience in labor law matters, acquired throughout his work as government official, primarily at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) of Costa Rica.
At said Ministry Juan served as National Pensions Director (from April 2016 through February 2017); he also served as Vice-Minister of Labor for Social Affairs from February 2017 through May 2018.
He was also Vice-Minister of Labor for Labor Affairs from May 2018 through January, 2019.
Juan’s knowledge and expertise led to his designation as Vice-Minister for the Presidency of the Republic of Costa Rica, serving from January 2019 through February 2020.
He was admitted as partner to BDS Asesores for the Northern Area of Costa Rica, as from February 2021.
