El día de hoy fue publicado en Gaceta Oficial, el Decreto Ejecutivo N° 421 del Ministerio de Trabajo y Desarrollo Laboral, que declara el 20 de diciembre de 2019, como Día De Duelo Nacional y ordena que la Bandera Nacional se mantenga a media asta en las entidades públicas y establecimiento privados del país.

El decreto establece que la bandera hondeara a media asta durante el viernes 20 de diciembre, esto en honor a las víctimas de la invasión, hecho histórico que se dio en 1989. Si bien el día se reconoce como un día de duelo nacional, el artículo 4 de dicho decreto, establece además que dicha declaratoria no conlleva el cierre obligatorio de oficinas públicas ni privadas, por lo que el trabajo en esta fecha se remunerará como jornada ordinaria, sin que aplique recargo por tal motivo.
